Nawada: A state vigilance investigation bureau team led by DSP Arun Kumar nabbed a sub-inspector (SI) of Warisaliganj police station Banarsi Yadav in Nawada district  while accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000 on February 10 evening. The SI was also slapped by the vigilance when he resisted arrest. The vigilance officials also arrested two others who defended the SI.

Warisaliganj SI Banarsi Yadav had demanded Rs 25,000 for providing relief to Ram Janam Yadav of village Birnama  under the same police station. Ram Janam Yadav is languishing in Nawada jail in an Arms Act case. His nephew Murari Yadav informed the vigilance department of the development leading to arrest of the SI who was whisked away to the state capital.
