Rohtas police seize sand laden tractors, 2 held

Sasaram : Rohtas police seized two sand laden tractors and also arrested the two drivers : Pintu Paswan of Vishunpura and Lalan Singh of Jagodih, on March 9, 2018.

SHO, Sasaram Town police station in Rohtas district, said that despite several warning, raids and arrest of a number of persons, sand mafias are still carrying on their sand mining activities under the cover of darkness and carry the same through forest hoping police will not conduct raids during night.

The SHO said that sand mining has been banned at Vishunpura, Chitauli and Jagodih sand ghats but the sand mafias were still very active at these ghats in night and reach Dhakadha and Dhankadhaa via Nimiadiha through the forest and sale sand at high rates.
