Sasaram : Rohtas police seized 4,560 packets of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and arrested two liquor smugglers: Chunmun Pal and Lal Ji Singh, under Shivsagar police station on March 8, 2018, evening. Police also seized the Pick-up van carrying the liquor packets. Police lodged an FIR under provisions of the New Excise Act and forwarded the arrested liquor smugglers to jail.

SHO, Shivsagar police station, Rakesh Kumar said that the police conducted raid near Chenari railway station in the late evening on March 8 and seized 4,560 packets of IMFL  kept in 95 cartons worth about Rs 9 lakh. The liquor was smuggled from UP and was being unloaded at a secret place near Chenari railway station when police reached there and arrested the liquor smugglers.

During interrogation, the arrested smugglers revealed that the liquor was smuggled from UP to be sold in the market of Shivsagar at the rate of Rs 200 per  packet. The SHO said that several white collared persons are involved in this racket. Police will bust the racket soon, he said.
