Ara : The RJD and Congress workers observed November 8, 2017, as ‘Black Day in Bhojpur district to mark the completion of one year of demonetisation at the call of RJD Chief Lalu Prasad and Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi. They were also protesting the introduction of GST on July 1, 2017.

Hundreds of RJD activists led by their Bhojpur district president Harinarayan Singh took out a procession from Ara Ramana Maidan on November 8 that passed through the main thoroughfares of the town and culminated at the gate of the office of Bhojpur District Magistrate where they staged demonstration and raised slogans against PM Narendra Modi. The Congresss workers staged a day long dharana in front of their district office at Shaheed Bhawan tri-junction.

The leaders of both the political parties describe PM Narendra Modi as ‘Jumlebaaz’ and accused him of making false promises to the people. They said that due to Demonetisation and GST, the government had put the farmers, traders, businessmen and common people on the brink of starvation.
