Ara : An ASI Shatrughan Prasad lodged a named FIR against the RJD MLA from Barhara in Bhojpur district Saroj Yadav and also unnamed FIR against his 30 supporters with Ara Town police station, Ara, late November 7, 2017, evening, charging them with being involved in a scuffle with police personnel on duty and tearing an official register on November 6. The MLA, on the other hand, earlier filed ‘sanaha’ ( Informatory) in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate against Bhojpur DM and SP apprehending that the officials duo might implicate him in false cases.

A vehicle checking drive was going on between Ara Municipal Corporation and Ara Police Club in the late evening on November 6, 2017, and police had seized some vehicles of a nephew of Saroj Yadav, MLA, and his supporters. After which the MLA reached spot where at the vehicle were being checked along with his supporters and allegedy used unparliamentary words against the cops on duty. He also tore the official  register and forcibly took away the seized vehicles with him.

The Bihar Police Association and Bihar Police Men’s Association took the matter seriously and their office bearers met Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar and demanded that an FIR be lodged against the MLA and his supporters. The FIR was lodged in the late evening on November 7.

The MLA and four other persons belonging to dalit community had already filed a ‘sanaha’ in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate against Bhojpuri DM Sanjeev Kumar and SP Awakash Kumar apprehending that they might implicate him in false cases. The MLA said that police had misbehaved with him and his  supporters when he went to get the seized vehicles released. The MLA alleged that he had complained to the senior officials in this regard but no action was taken and so he filed a ‘sanaha’. He said after the news of fillining of ‘sanaha’ spread, police lodged an FIR implicating him and his supporters in false cases.
