Woman commits suicide at Bhojpur village

Ara : Puja Kumari, 20, daughter of Durga Dutta Singh of village Kesat under Navanagar police station in Buxar district, married woman committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan of her room at village Ishwarpura Mansinghpur under Karnamepur police outpost on November 13, 2017.

Later, police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for autopsy. A named FIR has been lodged with  Karnamepur police outpost against four persons including Puja’s husband Manoj Mahto, on the statement of her father but no arrest has so far been made in this connection.
SHO, Karnamepur police outpost, Shambhu Prasad, said that Puja Kumari, daughter of Durga Dutta Singh of village Kesat under Navanagar police station in Buxar district, was married to Manoj Mahto of Ishwarpur Mansinghpur village under Karnamepur police outpost on April 29, 2017. She was being tortured by her in-laws for more dowry ever since her marriage and when their demands were not fulfilled they started beating her, the SHO said. Fed up with frequent physical torture, she confined herself to her room in the morning on November 13  and committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan, police said.
