Patna : Colleges under Patna University (PU) are gearing up to hold common entrance test for admission of boys and girls to three-year degree courses in Arts, Commerce and Science streams in its different colleges. About 16,000 students have submitted their applications online.

Many guardians were pleading for extension of the last date of submission of forms, PU authorities did not concede their demand. But, the university has decided to give some relief to the applicants who, for some reasons, could not fill up their forms properly. There have reportedly been some lapses on the part of students in online submission of forms. The application form was to be submitted in two different stages. First, the candidate had to get himself registered on the PU website and then he was supposed to apply for the college of his choice. The fee for each process was to be submitted separately. While many candidates got themselves registered with the PU, they did not submit their form to the college of their choice. Similarly, some students submitted their forms directly to the college without getting themselves registered with the university.

The university has decided that aspirants who could not submit their forms properly would be given a chance on the date of common eligibility test (CET) itself. Those who could not get themselves registered with the university or who could not submit their application form to the college of their choice would be issued admit cards by the CET incharge at the test centre, PU students’ welfare dean Dolly Sinha said.

The CET incharge for arts faculty is the principal of Patna Women’s College. The principals of Magadh Mahila College and Patna Science College are the incharge of CET for commerce and science faculties respectively. The tests will be held on June 23, 24 and 25 respectively. The test will be held from 11 am to 1.15 pm. Meanwhile, the process of online submission of application forms for admission to the post-graduation courses of PU has also been started. The last date for submission of forms is June 28,
