Private security guard commits suicide

Patna: A private security guard Rambabu Singh (58) was found hanging in his room in an apartment located in Saristabad locality under Gardanibagh police station on Wednesday. Gardanibagh police station SHO BK Chauhan said that the deceased was a native of Ramnagar Muth, Masaurhi, in Patna district and was working as a guard in the apartment. He said that the guard was living here alone.

Quoting the residents of the apartment, the SHO said that the guard had talked to his wife on August 16 night and it seems that he committed suicide after that. Some of those living in the apartment said that he was not having cordial relationship with his family members, the SHO said adding that the body had been sent for autopsy.

Seven arrested: Police on Wednesday forwarded seven supporters of an independent MLC Ritlal Yadav to jail. Senior SP (SSP), Patna, Manu Maharaj said that Yadav’s supporters were arrested when they were trying to disturb the tender process at Mahendru. The SSP said that he had been receiving complaints that Yadav’s supporters were trying to manage the tenders and were even preventing others from participating in the process. Some of the arrested persons were also wanted in connection with such cases earlier, he added.
