Patna: Bihar JD(U) president Bashistha Narain Singh on August 19, 2017, appointed Pragati Mehta state General Secretary and Spokesperson of the party. Mehta, 37, was earlier the RJD spokesperson but resigned from the party on August 16, 2017, and joined the JD(U). He had unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha election from Munger in 2014. A former journalist, Mehta hails from Munger district.
