Ara : Bhojpur police recovered a girl two months after she went missing and produced her before the court on September 12, 2017, where her statement was recorded under section 164 CrPC. Later, police handed her over to her husband on the direction of the court.

Binay Kumar, son of Shiv Nandan Mahto of village Bagawa under Kachhawa police outpost in Rohtas district, lived at a rented house of a teacher Ram Ji Yadav under Town Police station, Ara, and taught his college going girl. They fell in love and the girl eloped with her tutor and tied nuptial knot with him at Aranya Devi temple. After her disappearance, her mother Shiv Kumari Devi had lodged a named FIR with  Town police station alleging that Binay Kumar had kidnapped her daughter with a view to marry her.

On September 12, police arrested the girl and Binay Kumar from Ara. The girl said in the court that she loved Binay Kumar and was not kidnapped and had gone with him willingly. Binay Kumar told the court that he was already married to Beauty Kumari of Jagdishpur in 2011 and had two children with her. He further said that his first wife Beauty Kumari had no objection to his marriage with the girl and he tied  nuptial knot with her at Aranya Devi temple. The court after hearing their plea, ordered police to hand over the girl to her husband.
