Police recover body of married woman at Bhojpur village

Ara : Bhojpur police recovered body of a woman near Hathi Mor at village Baseya under Agiaw Bazaar police station in Bhojpur district on June 6, 2018, morning, and brought it  over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased was identified as Rita Devi, wife of Achchhe Lal of village Mahuary under Agiaw Bazaar police station.

SHO, Agiaw Bazaar police station, said that Rita Devi, of daughter of Nand Kumar of village Giridhar Baraw in Buxar district, was married to Achchhe Lal of village Mahuary in 2008 and had  two children. As their financial condition was not good, Achchhe Lal decided to work at Saudi Arabia and he got a job there with the help of his friend Pintu Mahto of village Baseya. Obliged, she allegedly got to Pintu Mahto and started living with him at Nayaka Tola under Jagdishpur police station for the last six months, the SHO said.

Meanwhile, Pintu Mahto’s marriage was settled and this led to fight between him and Rita Devi. On June 5, 2018, evening, Rita Devi’s condition deteriorated and she was admitted to a private clinic but the doctor referred her to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in view of her critical condition. She, however, breathed her last on way to PMCH in the wee hour on June 6. After her death, Pintu Mahto allegedly threw her body near Hathi Mor at Mahuary village and escaped.
