Ara : Police arrested Bijay Mal Singh and his son Anjay Kumar Singh of Bihia village under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district along with a rifle in connection with murder of Ranjeet Bahadur Singh alias Chhotak Kushwaha. The deceased was brother of district president, Hindustani Awam Morcha (secular) Badak Kushwaha. The father-son duo was arrested within 24 hours of the murder.

ASP, Jagdishpur, Manjeet Singh, said that the action was taken on the statement of people present on the spot. The statement was taken at Ara Sadar Hospital after the post-mortem.

The ASP said that Chhotak Kushwaha along with his supporters was getting his 13 kattha of land measured at Saheb Tola under Bihia police station on May 27, 2018,when Pappu Singh with whom he had long standing land dispute arrived there and objected to it that led to scuffle in between the two groups after which, Pappu Singh and others opened fire killing Chhotak Kushwaha on spot and escaped. Pappu Singh is yet to be arrested. The ASP said that other accused will be arrested very soon.
