Patna: Patna police on Sunday detained servant and former driver of slain couple Mahant Bipin Bihari Das and Savita Sharma for interrogation in connection with their murder at their P&T colony house under Kotwali police station, Patna. Senior SP (SSP), Patna, Manu Maharaaj said that both of them have been detained for interrogation. The murder is fall out of some property dispute, he said adding that police would soon crack the case.
Bipin Bihari Das and his wife Savita Sharma were murdered at their plush house `Salona Kunj’ in the wee hours on November 6. Both of them were in their seventies and hailed from Bakhri in Begusarai district. Bipin Bihari Das was Mahant of Salona Mut at Bakhri and was living in the state capital for past 40 years.
A police officer associated with the investigation of the murder case, on condition of anonymity, said that couple’s son Saurabh Kumar lives near Saguna Mor in Danapur with his family members for the past two years. He said that Saurabh left Salona Kunj on Saturday at around 12.15 pm andreturned there on Sunday morning at around 8 am. He revealed that police have interrogated about seven persons in this connection. The cops are waiting for some persons, who were employed at the house, as they are out of Patna for Chhath Puja, he added.
