Buxar DM orders for lodging FIR against employees on leave

Buxar: Buxar DM Raman Kumar, who held a meeting with the officials of the district on November 5 at Ram Rekha ghat on the bank of river Ganga to review the law security and sanitation arrangements for Chhath festival, ordered to withhold salary of the officials not present at the meeting. He also ordered to lodge FIR against the officials and employees who have gone on leave.

The DM had already cancelled leave of all the employees in view of Deepawali and Chhath and a clash between two communities at Piro in Bhojpur district in October, 2016. The DM said that seven control rooms have been set up to maintain law and order during Chhath festival and officials had been to keep vigil round the clock till the festival is over. He said after devastating flood this year none of the ghat on the bank of river Ganga could be considered completely safe and so the responsibility of officials has multiplied. He also directed the officials not to leave their place of deputation till all devotees returned on November 7, 2016.

Buxar SP Upendra Sharma said that the river is deep at Sumeshwarsthan Ghat and so it is very much difficult  situation there and requested the devotees not to cross the barricade. He said the devotees throng the Nath Baba ghat, Ram Rekha ghat and Sati ghat in large number hence the cops and officials need all the time.
