Bagaha: Police on September 29, 2018, arrested Jagiraha panchayat Sarpanch Motilal Ram and Surendra Yadav, a resident of village Bhatahawa under Thakraha police station in Bagaha police district on the charge of thrasing two minor boys after tying them with a bamboo pole on September 27, 2018, for allegedly stealing a mobile phone.
Sources said that Surendra Yadav of village Bhatahawa had caught the minor boys Guddu Yadav, 9, son of Subhas Yadav, and Shailesh Yadav, 8, son of Prabhu Yadav of the village, for stealing his mobile phone and took them to the house of Sarpanch Motilal Ram. Surendra Yadav’s supporters thrashed after tying them with a bamboo pole. Sarpanch Motilal Ram arbitrarily slapped a fine of Rs 19,000 on them and and gave their parents ultimatum to deposit the same at the earliest.
When the matter came to light, a police team led by SHO, Thakaraha Police Station, Abdul Mazid, arrested Sarpanch Motilal Ram and mobile phone owner Surender Yadav and sent them to Bagaha Sub-Jail on September 29 evening.
