Bagaha:  Twentyone children in the 10-16 year age group from West Champaran, East Champaran, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, and Darbhanga districts were rescued from clutches of human traffickers in a joint operation by Incharge, Pathakauli Police Outpost, Rajesh Kumar, and SSB Jawans at  Bagaha railway station on October 1, 2018.

Police sources said that the operation was  carried out on a tip off that some traffickers and their victims were travelling by Porbandar Exppress (12906) train that would reach Bagaha railway station by October 1 late evening. As soon as the train reached Bagaha railway station, Incharge, Pathakauli Police Outpost, Rajesh Kumar joint and the SSB team swung into action and searched different bogies and rescued the 21 children but the traffickers managed to escape by getting information earlier about police move.

Rajesh Kumar said that rescued children were handed over to the coordinator of Childline Sub-Centre, Narkatiaganj, Arbind Pandey, on October 2, 2018, after registering a case in this connection.
