Sasaram : Rohtas police, during a combing operation, arrested nine members of banned naxal outfit Tritiya Prasstuti Committee (TPC) from Panirghat and also seized firearms and detonators from their possession late Saturday night.
The combing operation was led by Rohtas SP M S Dhillon accompanied by ASP (operations) Md Suhail. SDPO, Rohtas, Alok Ranjan said that police recovered two pistols, 43 cartridges and 40 detonators from their possession. The arrested naxalites were identified as Shiv Murat Rai, Bijay Rai, Bali Rai, Dhupan Singh, Manoj Yadav, Pappu Yadav, Bijay Musahar, Sri Oraon and Vindhyachal Chaudhary.

ASP (Operation) Md. Suhail said on Sunday that the TPC had intensified its activities around Panari Ghat of Baddi in Rohtas district and used to demand levy from the brick kiln owners and the contractors frequently, who had lodged complaints with police. He said the arrested naxalites confessed their involvement in levy demand. The ASP said that now the police would also arrest the patrons of these naxalites.
