Ara : Police, on a tip off, conducted raid at a gambling centre near Navodaya Chowk under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district on February 27, 2019, evening, and arrested four gamblers including a former Ward Councillor and also seized five mobile phoness, papers, calculator, and over Rs 26,000 cash from their possession.
The arrested gamblers were identified as former Ward Councillor Raj Kishor Ram of Judge Bazaar, Suraj Kumar Gupta, and Raju Kumar of Bihia, and Rajesh Rawani of Bagen police station area in Buxar district.
SHO, Bihia police station, said that he got information that gambling centre was being run near Navodaya Chowk under the police station. He along with police personnel conducted raid there and arrested four gamblers. He said that it was shown on paper that results were being published every half an hour. The SHO said that after interrogation all the 4 arrested gamblers were sent to jail on February 28, 2019.
