Police arrest 3 persons for thrashing Dumraon Sub-Divisional Hospital Doctor

Buxar : Deputy Superintendent incharge, Sub-Divisional Hospital, Dumraon in Buxar district, R K Srivastava lodged a named FIR with Dumrao police station against five persons including a Nurse Nirmala Kumari and her husband Gyanendra Kumar and some unnamed persons for allegedly thrashing a doctor on duty and resorting to violence at the Sub-Divisional Hospital on May 24, 2019, late night.

Police arrested three persons : Binod Kumar, son of Vikas Kumar, Dipu Kumar, son of Gorakh Paswan, and Vikas Kumar, son of Shiv Ji Paswan of Harpur village under Itadhi police station, in this connection on May 26, 2019, and sent them to jail. Civil Surgeon, Buxar, Dr Usha Kiran Verma has constituted committee to inquire into the matter and subsequent departmental action against the hospital employee concerned.

SHO, Dumrao police station, Shiv Narayan Ram, said that Munni Devi, wife of Mahendra Mahto of village Kopawa, was admitted to Dumraon Sub-Divisional Hospital for delivery and she gave birth to a male child on May 24, 2019, night, but the child died sometime after his birth and her family members alleged that he died due to negligence of the nurse Nirmala Kumari. At this, Dr Vinish Kumar rebuked the nurse. Angry over it, Nurse Nirmala Kumari thrashed the doctor and  also called her husband and some other persons on the spot. Later, the Nurse and her aides went on rampage at the hospital and damaged hospital property.

CS Dr Usha Kiran Verma said that the inquiry committee had been constituted on the direction of Buxar DM and action would be taken against the guilty persons after the inquiry committee submits its report. Nirmala Kumari was transferred from Buxar Sadar Hospital to  Dumraon Sub-Divisional Hospital about a year ago.
