Ara : One person was killed and about a dozen others injured five of them seriously when a speeding Bolero rammed into a tea- stall in Ahirpurva locality under Ara town police station on May 26, 2019, morning. The locals rushed the injured to Ara Sadar Hospital.

The residents of the area blocked NH-30 Ara-Patna main road near Ahirpurva with the body paralysing movement of vehicles for about three hours. They burnt tyres on road and raised slogans against Bhojpur district administration. They were demanding compensation to the next of kin of the deceased and all the injured. The blockade was lifted after positive response from police officials. Later, police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased was identified as Laxman Sah, 65, of Ahirpurva locality under Ara town police station.

SHO, Ara Town Police Station, said that about a dozen persons were taking tea at a tea stall in Ahirpurwa locality on May 26  morning when a speeding Bolero rammed the tea stall injuring almost all the persons present there. Laxman Sah was killed on spot while about a dozen others were injured.

The injured were admitted toAra Sadar Hospital but the doctors referred five of them : Manish Kumar, 17, son of Brij Nandan Yadav, Venkatesh Pandey, 45, son of Jai Gopal Pandey, Amit Kumar Rai, 26, son of Shushil Kumar Yadav, Pappu Kumar, 35, son of Birendra Kumar Gupta, and Arun Kumar, 45, son of Kishori Sao, to Patna Medical College and Hospital in view of their serious condition. The SHO said that police seized the Bolero but its driver escaped from the spot.
