Panchayat Secretary arrested accepting bribe in Bokaro

Bokaro ( Jharkhand) :  Dhanbad based Anti- corruption bureau (ACB) sleuths on July 13, 2017, arrested Ahardih panchayat secretary under Nawadih block of Bokaro Mohammad Feroz Ansari while accepting bribe of Rs 2,500 from a contractor Kamal Chand Mahto.

Mahto is constructing a drain at village Junodih estimated to cost Rs 2.49 lakh. When he demanded release of fund for the work already done, Md Feroz Ansari demanded Rs 10,000 from him to clear his bill. When Ansari continued to demand bribe, Mahto contacted ACB, Dhanbad, which  laid a trap and handed over Rs 2,500 to him to give it to Feroz Ansari and once the cash was handed  to the panchayat secretary at Ahardih, the ACB men nabbed him  and brought him over to Dhanbad office for interrogation.
