Bettiah : Sanjay Yadav, 27, a member of Bhagawanpur panchayat Samiti under Nautan police station in West Champaran district and son of Endal Yadav, was shot at and seriously injured by his rivals on May 27, 2017, evening, when he was returning from the house of Ramchandar Yadav alias Pandit Yadav, Sarpanch of the Panchayat.
Sanjay Yadav was taken to Gopalganj Primary health centre (PHC) in West Champaran district where he registered his statement before police and made eight persons including Kanaihiya Yadav, Mukhiya of the panchayat, made accused. Later on, his condition deteriorated and he was referred to Gorakhpur in UP for better treatment but he was died on the way the same night. The deceased’s cousin Babunand Yadav alleged the long enmity with the mukhiya was the reason behind the incident.
