Ara : One person was killed and another injured in Bhojpur district in an accident on October 24, 2017. Tabela Mahto was killed while his friend Manoj Yadav survived narrowly when their motorcycle collided head on with a speeding dumper loaded with soil near Kali temple between Badkagaon bridge and Bampali on Ara Buxar main road NH 84 when they were coming to Ara on their motorcycle from Shahpur. The deceased Tabela Mahato was a resident of Shahpur under Shahpur police station. He was an employee of FCI.
The irate villagers blocked Ara Buxar main road Badkagaon bridge with the body of the deceased and paralysed movement of vehicles for about two hours. They burnt tyres on the road and raised slogans against Bhojpur police administration. They were demanding arrest of the dumper driver and compensation to the family of the deceased. Police had to face wrath of the people when they tried to persuade the people to lift blockade.
In another incident, Pankaj Paswan of village Mukhlisa under Koelwar police station died due electrocution  when he had gone to attend call of nature and came in contact with a live electric wire at Katheshwarsthan under Bihta police station in Patna district on  October 24. He had gone to Katheshwarsthan to meet his sister.
