Ara : Eight persons including three women were injured when an ambulance dashed against a tree on the roadside at village Giddha under Koelwar police station on Patna-Ara main road in Bhojpur district in the wee hour on October 26, 2017. They were coming to their native village with the body of their newborn child for the last rites.

SHO, Koelwar police station, Pankaj Saini took all the injured to Ara Sadar Hospital and admitted them without any delay. The doctors referred five of the injured to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in precarious condition.

SHO Saini said that Kameshwar Rai of Jeeva Ke Tola under Barhara police station had admitted his newborn child to PMCH where he breathed his last on October 25 evening. After his death, Kameshwar Rai along with Nand Ji, Subhawati Devi, Ranjit, Anita,. Sunita, Satyendra and the driver of the Ambulance Mantu were returning to his native village Jeeva Ke Tola for the last rites of his child. When they reached near Giddha under Koelwar police station, the driver lost control over the steering and the ambulance dashed against a tree on the roadside in which eight persons were injured.
