Ara : Hundreds of non-teaching of employees of all the 16 constituent colleges under Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, proceeded on an indefinite strike on September 4, 2018, at the call of the Bihar State Employees Mahasangh to press their 12 point demand. As a result, teaching and other works came to a standstill at all these 16 colleges and the VKSU.

The demands of the non-teaching employees include implemention all the provisions of the agreement reached between the delegation of the employees and VKSU, regular and full payment of salary, appointment on compassionate ground, and promotion.

The students suffered a lot as admission work in Intermediate and BA part I remained paralysed due to the strike. Even payment of salary to the teachers and non-teaching employees will be adversely affected due to strike despite government releasing their two months’ salary to the VKSU.

Chitranjan Singh, Bhojpur district president, VKSU Non-teachinbg employees Assocaition cum Senator, said that the employees association had submitted a list of their demands on March 8, 2018, but the VKSU administration has remained indifferent forcing them to resort to agitation. He said if the VKSU administration does not concede thier demands,they would be compelled to stage dharna in front of the Governor house next week.
