Raxaul : Chief General Manager (CGM) of National highways authority of India (NHAI) Atul Kumar has said the 62 km long NH 28A, the Piprakothi –Raxaul link road, would be completed by March 2017. If the Tatiya construction company engaged in the construction fails to meet the deadline, its contract would be terminated, he said.
Reviewing the progress of this important road connecting Delhi to Kathmandu, CGM Kumar expressed his displeasure and said this road was supposed to be completed in 2014 itself but due to tardy pace of construction so far only 70 percent work has been completed. Talking to newsmen at Raxaul on Wednesday, he said the contract for this important road link of NHAI was allotted to this company at an estimated cost of Rs 357 crore. However, as the progress of work was unsatisfactory, the deadline was extended to 2016. The NHAI has again extended the deadline to March 2017.
CGM Kumar reviewed the progress of this road, which is under construction for the last 7 years, with Dr Sanjay Jaiswal, MP, Paschimi Champaran, Ranchandra Sahani, MLA, Bablu Gupta, MLC, Sidharth Tatiya ,proprietor of Tatiya company, and other local officials of NHAI at Raxaul.
