Raxaul :  Chief General Manager  (CGM) of National highways authority of India  (NHAI)  Atul Kumar  has  said  the 62 km long  NH 28A, the  Piprakothi –Raxaul  link road,  would be completed  by March 2017. If the  Tatiya  construction company  engaged  in the  construction  fails to meet the deadline, its contract would be terminated, he said.

Reviewing  the progress of this important  road  connecting Delhi to Kathmandu, CGM Kumar expressed his displeasure  and said  this road was supposed to be completed in 2014 itself but due to tardy pace of construction so far only 70 percent work has been completed. Talking to newsmen at Raxaul  on Wednesday, he said  the contract for this  important road link of NHAI  was allotted to this company at an estimated cost of Rs 357 crore. However, as the progress of work was unsatisfactory, the deadline was extended to 2016. The NHAI  has again extended the deadline  to March 2017.

CGM Kumar  reviewed  the progress of this road,which is under construction for the last 7 years, with Dr Sanjay Jaiswal, MP, Paschimi Champaran,  Ranchandra Sahani, MLA, Bablu Gupta, MLC, Sidharth Tatiya ,proprietor of Tatiya company,  and other  local officials of   NHAI at Raxaul.
