Giridih : A team of Jharkhand state vigilance and anti-corruption officials caught a block employee Rajkishore Prasad red-handed on Wednesday afternoon when he was accepting bribe from a villager on Birni block premises in Giridih district in Jharkhand. The officials also seized Rs 5,000 that he had accepted as a bribe from the villager. Rajkishor Prasad, the head clerk (Nazir) of Birni block, was taken to Ranchi for further action.

A vigilance team led by DSP Shravan Kumar, on a tip off,  visited the block office at Birni around 12: 30 pm and laid trap to arrest Rajkishore. Inspectors Jitendra Dubey and Kishor Tiwari were among other members of the team. The officials revealed that Rajkishore had demanded Rs 5,000 from one Subhash Verma to select his wife as ‘Poshan Sakhi’ – a nutrition companion meant to look after the nutrition of rural kids according to their health. “ The accused has been taken to Ranchi office for further action,” Kumar said.
