Patna: Bank accounts of 20 accused currently in Beur central jail in connection with the Intermediate examinations result scam will be freezed, said SP Chandan Kushwaha who leads the Special Investigation Team here on Wednesday.

Kushwaha told mediapersons that Patna police has sent letters to the general managers and regional managers of all banks in Bihar circle requesting them to furnish the details of the bank accounts of the accused  and freeze them immediately. The accused include former chairman of Bihar school Examination Board (BSEB) Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh, his wife and former JD(U) MLA Usha Sinha, principal of Vishun Roy College, Bhagwanpur, Vaishali, Bachcha Rai, former secretary of board Hariharnath Jha, three principals of the colleges at Vaishali and Rajendranagar, where the answer -sheets of Intermediate arts and science examinations were evaluated.
Patna police has detained another former secretary of BSEB Sriniwas Tiwari too and is questioning him. Before Jha, Tiwari was secretary of the board. Police got the statements of five members of the Ethics Committee of board recorded before the judicial magistrate under section 164 of IPC.  The statement of deputy secretary Kameshwar Gupta too was recorded. Patna police will paste notices at the residences of three absconding toppers asking them to appear before the police. FIRs have been registered against them too.
