Munger Zila Parishad Chairperson to be elected on June 30

Munger:  Political atmosphere is warming up for the election of the chairman and vice chairman of Munger Zila Parishad scheduled for June 30.- The election of the chairman and the vice- chairman would be held under the supervision of Munger DM Udaya Kumar Singh who will chair the proceedings of the election.

Sadar SDO, Munger, Kundan Kumar, on Sunday said here that Prohibitory order under section 144 of CrPC will remain in force around Zila Parishad campus on June 30 till the election was over as a precautionary measure. The election is likely to witness a tough contest. Fourteen members elected for the Zilla Parishad in the recently concluded three-tier  panchayat elections will vote for the top two posts of the Parishad. Convassing is on peak for getting support of the  members. Out of 14 elected members of the Zilla Parishad, 13 are new faces.
