Ara : About a dozen non-teaching employees working on contract basis at Mahanth Mahadevanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya (MMMM), Ara, proceeded on an indefinite pen down strike on August 6, 2018, and sat on dharana on the campus of the college demanding payment of their salary. They paralysed teaching and other official works at the college.
Veer Kuer Singh University Non-teaching Employees Mahasangh (VKSUNM) and different students unions also extended their supports to the protesters. The VKSUNM and students unions said that they would also launch an aggressive agitation and paralyse working of all the colleges and the even the VKSU if their salary was not released at the earliest.
