Ara : Police arrested Hareram Singh of village Asani under Udwantnagar police station in Bhojpur district on August 28, 2017, in connection with murder of his wife Amita Devi on August 26, 2017, night. Later, Hareram was forwarded to jail.
SHO, Udwantnagar police station, Rajiv Kumar, said that Amita Singh, daughter of Birendra Singh of village Narayanpur, was married to Hareram Singh of village Asani in 2013 and had a one year old child. On August 26 night, Amita was sleeping with her one year old child Krishna while others including her husband were sleeping on the roof of their house. On August 27 around 4 am, her mother-in-law Sita Devi, hearing the cry of the child, entered the room of her daughter-in-law and found her lying unconscious with her hair cut. The family members immediately rushed Amita Singh to Ara Sadar Hospital but the doctors there declared her brought dead.
The SHO said that the post-mortem report said that Amita was strangulated to death. Police, on the basis of the post-mortem report, investigated into the incident and arrested her husband Hareram for killing her. The SHO said that father of the deceased said that relation between husband and wife was not good since marriage as Amita’s in-laws were demanding more dowry.
