Ara : Bhojpur police arrested a criminal from Neknam Tola under Barhara police station on May 19, 2017, evening in connection with firing on two brothers at Rajivnagar, Patna, on May 17, 2017. The arrested person was identified as Shivam alias Neeraj alias Babu Singh, son of Mukesh Singh alias Manjeet Singh of Neknam Tola under Barhara police station.

Police also seized a countrymade pistol, one live round and two blank cartridges from his possession. Later, a police team from Rajivnagar police station, Patna, reached Ara on May 19  evening and interrogated Shivam.

SHO, Barhara police station, Manoj Kumar said that Narbdeshwar Pathak of Rampur under Industrial police station in Buxar district lived at Rajivnagar Road No. 16 under Rajivnagar police station. Shivam had shot at and injured his two sons Narayan Pathak and Vijaykant Pathak on May 17, 2017. Both the injured are struggling for life at Patna Medical College and Hospital. After the incident, on the direction of Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj, Patna police had taken four persons under custody who disclosed names of some miscreants including Shivam.

The Barhara SHO said that Shivam and both the injured had a common girl friend that led to ugly incident. He said that Shivam had confessed before police his involvement in the crime and also revealed names of some other miscreants. The SHO said that Shivam was wanted in over a dozen criminal cases lodged against him with different police stations in Patna and was an absconder in  half a dozen cases including Vicky murder case.
