Idols of Goddess Durga installed at 492 places in West Champaran

Bettiah : Idols of Goddess Durga have been installed at 492 in West Champaran District after getting licence from the district administration. Elaborate security arrangements have been made to ensure peaceful Durga Puja in the district.

DM, West Champaran, Nilesh Ramchandra Deore, SP Jayant Kant, and SP, Bagaha Police District, Arbind Kumar Gupta, in a joint statement issued on October 15, 2018, said that at Durga Puja will be celebrated at 492 in the district including 171 places at Bettiah, 172 at Narakatiaganj, and 149 in Bagaha. At crowded places CCTV cameras are being installed.

Durga Puja Committees and peace committees have assured to give full cooperation to the district administration in maintaining law and order. The district administration has issued warrants against 3,224 anti-social elements. Three Control Rooms will be remain functional at district headquarters Bettiah and Sub-Divisional headquarters  Narakatiaganj and Bagaha round the clock during the festival. Magistrates with adequate police force are being  deployed at all sensitive and crowded places.
