Patna: Unidentified criminals on Friday evening shot dead a senior journalist of a Hindi daily Rajdev Ranjan at Siwan,120 km from Patna.
Rajdev, who headed the Siwan bureau of a premeir multi-edition Hindi daily Hindustan was shot on his head from close range at fruit market on Station Road. He was shot thrice. He was going to his residence from his office,his colleagues said. He was being chased by the criminals from his office. He was declared brought dead by the doctors at Siwan Hospital.

Rajdev, who was in his early 40s, was to celebrate his marriage anniversary on Saturday. His colleagues alleged a notorious political criminal of the area was behind the killing as Rajdev was threatened earlier too.
Bikram Kuer,former MLA of Raghunathpur in Siwan, while condoling the death of Rajdev said police should book the criminals without further delay as fear has gripped the area.
