Ara : Under the banner of Bihar Chikitsa Evm Jan Swasthya Karmchari Sangh, hundreds of female health employees led by Vimala Singh, Kumari Asha and Meena Kumari, staged demonstration in front of the office of the Civil Surgeon, Bhojpur, on August 17, 2018. They were raising slogans demanding payment of their salary.
Vimla Singh and Meena Kumari said that execution of all the welfare schemes of the government in the Health department is assigned to the health employees but they had not received their salary for the last 11 months. They said that they were now on the verge of starvation due to non-payment of their salary and added that they were forced to resort to agitation and boycott of work as their demand was not fulfilled despite several request. They threatened to intensify their agitation if their demand was conceded at the earliest.
