Ara : The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Bhojpur district. The  national flag was unfurled by almost all the educational institutions, government offices, Civil Court, Red Cross Society, Lawaris Sewa Kendra, IMA, Bal Hindi Pustakalaya, Youth Hostel of India, Arya Samaj, NGOs and others.

The main function was organized at Ramana Maidan, Ara, where Bhojpur District Magistrate Sanjeev Kumar hoisted the national flag. Speaking on the occasion, he paid homage to the freedom fighters and soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the freedom, unity and integrity of their motherland. He also highlighted the achievements of Bihar government and district administration.

The DM gave away certificates of appreciation to players of Wushu, who excelled in the field of sports and brought laurel to Bhojpur district at national level. and Dr Bikas Singh for his excellence in the medical field. Earlier in the morning, school children took out a ‘Prabhat Pheri’ that passed through the main thoroughfares of the town and culminated at Ramana Maidan. In the evening, a colourful cultural programme was also organized at Nagari Pracharini Sabhagar by the school children and others to mark the occasion. The DM also distributed prizes among the participants.
