Ara : A teenage girl of village Basauna under Dhangai police station in Bhojpur district, who was missing since December 6, 2016, tied knot with her lover at Panipat, Haryana, and returned home after nearly two years. Police brought her over to Ara Sadar Hospital for medical examination. Her husband is still absconding.
SHO, Dhangai police station, said that Ruby (name changed), a student of class IX and a resident of village Basauna, was missing since December 6, 2016,, and an FIR was lodged with the police on December 20, 2016, against Uttam Kumar of village Rudranagar under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district. Police tried to recover the girl but in vain.
On August 17, Ruby came to Dhangai police station and revealed that her elder sister was married at village Rudranagar and she fell in love with the brother-in-law (devar) of her sister Uttam Kumar and fled with him on December 6, 2016, and reached Panipat in Haryana and tied knot with him at a temple and wished to live with him. She said even her mother and that of her husband had agreed on their marriage.
The SHO said that the police will produce her before the court to get her statement recorded under 164 of CrPC and added that further action would be taken after the court order.
