Patna: A division bench of Patna high court comprising Justice Navniti Prasad Singh and Justice Nilu Agarwal  while hearing a PIL filed by Guddu Baba regarding bad condition of tubewells expressed its dissatisfaction over the reply of Principal Secretay, Minor Irrigation, Tripurai Sharan on Thursday.

On the last date of hearing, the court haddirected the state to ask Principal Secretary, minor irrigation, to appear before the court to inform it about the status of the tubewells. Principal Secretary, Tripuri Sharan, appeared before the court on Thursday and informed it that  10,242 handpumps were installed but about 60% of them were not in working condition. Only 4,371 of them are in working condition, he said. The court was not satisfied with his reply. The court fixed the next hearing on September 13, 2016.
