Saharsa : The incidents of cutting of hair of women were reported from Itthara, Bhelwara, Bhagdeva and Shivpuri villages in Saharsa district on August 9, 2017, night, triggering panic among the women.
The victims were : Pinki Devi, wife of Bhelwara resident Rajbir Yadav, Mamata Devi, wife of Itthara resident Shivnarayan Yadav, Dipa Kumari, daughter of Shivpuri resident Chhotelal Yadav, and a woman from village Bhagdeva. All of them were admitted to Saharsa Sadar Hospital on August 10 morning as they fell ill after after the incident. Pinki Devi’s kin alleged that a cat had enter her room through the window cut her hair. Several woman reached the hospital to see the victims. Eralier, one such incident was reported from neighbouring Madhepura district. But, there are people who do not find such incidents logical and dismissing them as rumour.
