Gopalganj Excise Supdt threantened with dire consequence

Gopalganj: Even as police are trying to come out of the shadow of Khajurbanni hooch tragedy, Excise Superintendent, Gopalganj, Prairanjan received an elimination threat on his official cellphone on Thursday. He has lodged a written complaint with Town police station, Gopalganj,  in this connection. Taking serious note of the threatening, the Cyber Cell along with local police have started investigation into the matter.

Priyaranjan, in his written complaint, alleged that someone from cellphone number- 8507031694  made a call on his official cellphone and threatened to eliminate him. Soon after receiving the call, the Excise Superintendent informed the Town police station about it. SDPO (Sadar) Manoj Kumar said that investigation was on and police would soon arrest the caller.

Meanwhile, police sources revealed it might be the handiwork of liquor mafias as the Excise Department led by the Superintendent is carrying out continuous raids at Khajurbanni after the tragedy and arrested several persons involved in illegal liquor business.
