Patna: A State Vigilance Investigation Bureau team from Patna on Thursday netted a junior engineer (JE), Energy Department, Aurangabad, Amit Kumar while taking Rs 15,000 as bribe from a contractor Dharmendra Kumar for clearing his bill. The Vigilance Bureau team was led by Vigilance DSP Kamod Prasad.
The contractor was pleading before JE to clear his pending bills. However, the JE demanded Rs 15,000 for the purpose, sources said adding the contractor informed the Vigilance Bureau. After this, a Vigilance team laid a trap and caught JE red-handed from his residence at Gandhi Nagar while accepting the cash. Sources said that the arrested JE would be produced before Vigilance court, Patna, on Friday. The arrested JE is posted at Haspura under Goh sub-division in Aurangabad district.
