Gopalganj: Two persons were killed when an ATM cash van collided head on with the bike on which both the youths were travelling on national highway (NH)-28 at village Dewapur under Barauli police station in Gopalganj district on Thursday. A four-wheeler also dashed against the ATM van from behind and both the vehicles overturned causing jam on the road.

Police said that Shailendra Singh (21), son of Harikishun Singh of Jafar Tola, along with Sudhir Singh (25), son of Kripa Singh of the same village, were on way to Gopalganj on a bike. As the duo reached Dewapur, the ATM cash van coming from opposite direction hit the bike killing Sailendra Singh on the spot and causing serious injuries to the pillion rider. The injured youth was rushed to a local hospital.He, however, succumbed to his injuries midway. On getting information, Barauli police station SHO Rajdeo Prasad reached the spot and cleared the traffic jam. Sudhir was married about seven months back and his newlywed wife became unconscious as she received the news of death of her husband.
