Sitamarhi: Two more death due drowning in the flood were reported in Sitamarhi district on August 22, 2017. The flood has so far claimed 36 lives in Sitamarhi district, according to the Disaster Management Department figure though the unofficial figure is more than forty.
Mohd Musharraf Hussain,15, drowned to death in a flooded paddy field at village Gauri Nunha
under Nanpur block on August 22 while Kusum, 12, a resident of village Rampur Gangauli drowned to death in a rivulet of river Bagmati.
Meanwhile, brickbatting and scuffle were reported from village Nandwara under Bairgania block during relief distribution. The residents of village Janipur took out a protest march alleging non-distribution of relief materials at Nanpur block headquarters.
