Bagaha : Additional District Judge I, Bagaha,  Dipak Kumar Singh, on April 4, 2017, sentenced to life imprisonment five persons:  Feku Gupta, Mahatam Gupta, Chandrika Gupta, Sikandar Gupta and Raju Gupta, for killing Yogendra Yadav of village Ulatahawa under Bhitaha police station in West Champarant district in a land dispute.

According to prosecution, Mina Devi, wife of Yogendra Yadav, had lodged a case with Bhitaha police station on May 28, 2013, alleging that her husband was beaten to death by 14 persons of the village in a land dispute. During trial of the case 9 named accused were acquitted due to lack of evidence while five named accused were held guilty by the court and sentenced to life imprisonment. The court also slapped a fine Rs 25,000 on each of the five convicts. Eleven witnesses deposed before the court. Birendra Kumar Mall, Additional Public Prosecutor,appeared on behalf of prosecution and Narbeshwar Bharti for defence.
