Sasaram:  Former MLA Suryadeo Singh, his wife Kusum Singh, Radhesyam Dubey, Satyanarayan Singh and his driver Trishuldhari were to jail on April 4, 2017, in connection with firing killing a minor girl and injuring four others on April 2, 2017, evening, at village Tenduni under Bikramganj police station in Rohtas district. The JD(U)  suspended the former MLA from the primary membership of the party JD(U) on April 3.

SDPO, Bikramganj, Neeraj Kumar said that former MLA and JD(U) leader Suryadeo Singh had a long drawn dispute with his brother Chandradeep Singh over a piece of land at Tenduni village and both the sides had quarrelled several times over the issue. On April 2 evening, Suryadeo Singh along with his associates reached his brother’s house at Tenduni and went to roof from where they started indiscriminate firing in which an eight year old girl Sahela Khatoon, daughter of Qayamuddin Ansari, was killed and three minor children Sahil Kumar, 4, son of Munna Singh, Prakash Kumar alias Tunna, 9, son of Bhola Mahto, Divakar, 7, son of Amar Singh, and a middleage person Chhote Singh were injured. Prakash Kumar alias Tunna’s condition is stated to be critical and was referred to Varanasi in precarious condition. The children were playing in the street. Police also seized three rifles and seven live round from the spot.

After the incident,  police, under mounting pressure of the villagers, arrested Suryadeo Singh, his wife Kusum Singh and others and taken them to Dinara for security reason. Thy were brought back to Bikramganj on April 4 and were forwarded to jail.

The SDPO said that a named FIR was lodged with Bikramganj police station against seven persons on the statement of Munna Singh, nephew of Suryadeo Singh. He said that the police arrested five named persons but two named accused Sanjay Singh and son of the former MLA Bittu are still absconding.
