Ara : Police recovered body of a farmer Bijendra Singh from the bank of a river at village Ekwari under Sahar police station in Bhojpur district on July 14, 2019, and brought it over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

SHO, Sahar police station, said that Bijendra Singh, 45, a farmer and husband of Member, Ward No 12, Ekwari, Chinta Devi of Ekwari, had given 1.5 bighas of land to Kamta Nat, son of Teazan Nat of Jugul Tola under Chauri police station on lease, and Kamta Nat had so far given Rs 5,000 to him.

Bijendra Singh went to Jugul Tola on July 13, 2019 to get his money from Kamta Nat but he did not return till late. His family members informed  police who recovered his cloth and a tobacco box from a place between Ekwari and Jugul Tola on July 14, 2019. The family member suspect that Bijendra Singh might have been killed.

Piro DSP Ashok Kumar Azad along with heavy police force from Sahar, Chauri, and Azimabad police stations had conducted raids at Jugul Tola and Chandragarh but failed to locate Bijendra Singh. The SHO said that police, on getting information, recovered body of Bijendra Singh from the bank of a river at Ekwari.

The SHO said that Kamta Nat was taking liquor along with four of his associates where Bijendra Singh too was located. Later, Shatrughn Master of Jugul Tola dropped Bijendra Singh at Ekwari village on July 14, 2019. The SHO said that police conducted raids to arrest Shatrughn Master and Kamta Nat but both had fled away from the village. He said that still police are conducting raids to arrest them and added after their arrest the mystery behind the murder Bijendra Singh could be solved.
