Elderly woman dies in accident in Saharsa

Saharsa : Pania Devi, wife of late Ramdev Chaudhary, and aresident of Paharpur market under  Chakbharo panchayat in Saharsa district was seriously injured after a bike rider dahsed her on Simribakhtiarpur – Sonbersa stretch on NH 107 on August 16, 2017.  She was rushed to Simribakhtiarpur Sub-divisional hospital but she succumbed to her injuries there during treatment.

The speeding bike dashed Pania Devi when she was passing through the road. The bike rider escaped from the place of occurrence. The locals blocked the road near Paharpur after the accident. But, Saharsa DM Vinod Singh Gunjial, Simribakhtiarpur SDO Sumar Prasad Sah and CO Dharmendra Pandit reached spot and pacified them. The DM also announced compensation to the next of kin of the deceased. The SDO said that the family would get a compensation of Rs 4 lakh.
