Bettiah : Deputy CM Sushil kumar Modi on September 19, 2018, inaugurated four rural schemes at Jagdishpur, Ranipur–Rampurawa, Auraiya, and Ghogha Ghat under Bettiah Sub-Division in West Champaran district under Bihar State Water and Sanitation Mission ( Neer Nirmal Pariyojana) worth Rs 32.85 crore to ensure portable water supply to each rural household through water pipe from water tower. Modi was accompanied by Public Health Engineering Department Minister Vinod Narain Jha, who threw light on Rural Water and Snitation Poject launched by the Cntral Government.

Deputy CM Modi referred to several schemes including the Crop Damage Compensation Scheme for the farmers, Chief Minister Transport Scheme for scheduled caste and backward classes, Credit Card Scheme for higher education and 15 kg ration per month to each ST/SC and minority student living in Welfare Department’s residential hostel.

During his two day visit in the district, members of All India Journalist Security Samiti, West Champaran, led by Mohan Singh Srinivas Gautum, met the Modi and submitted their three- point demand including security to life and property of journalists in Bihar.

Two MPs:  Satish Chandra Dubey (Valmikinagar) and Sanjay Jaiswal (Paschimi Champaran), and BJP MLAs Bhagirathi Devi (Ramnagar), Narayani Sah (Nautan), and Prakash Rai(Chanpatia), BJP, Bettiah unit President  Ganga Pandey, former Minister Renu Devi were also present on the occasion.
