Drug peddler arrested with Rs 1.5 lakh cash, 500 gm Heroin at Ara

Ara : Police, on a tip off, conducted raid at a house on Godhna road under Nawada police station, Ara, on August 4, 2017, evening and arrested a drug peddler Krishna Bhagwan Rai,  son of Ram Yash Rai of Dhanchhua village under Chauri police station in Bhojpur district, with 500 gram of Heroin and Rs 1.5 lakh cash. Later, police forwarded him to jail.

Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar said that the arrested drug peddler had criminal antecedent and was earlier in jail in connection with murder and kidnapping. Though a resident of Dhanchhua village, he lives in a rented house on Godhna Road.

Gambler arrested : In another incident, police conducted raid at a gambling centre on the campus of a government school in Shital Tola locality under Town police station on August 5 morning and arrested a gambler Ranjan Paswan, son of Gaya Paswan of Sri Tola locality under Town police station, Ara. Police also seized a computer, 40 bundles of guessing coupons, a board and Rs 2,200  cash. Later, police sent him to jail after interrogation. SHO, Town police station, J P Rai said that the arrested gambler was an absconder in two criminal cases. He stated that police had seized IMFL from the campus of this school about a week back.
