DPS Bokaro Cultural Week gets underway

Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : The DPS Bokaro Cultural Week got underway here on July 11, 2017. Visual Art Competition and ‘Tabla Competition’ marked the inaugural day of the Cultural Week. The vibrant weekis being celebrated as a confluence of Ideas, People and Memories. 

Visual Art competition including Face Painting, Flower & Salad Decoration, Rangoli and On the Spot Poster and Calligraphy competition was conducted in the Senior Wing on July 11. Appreciating the performance of students, Hemlata S Mohan, Director and Principal of the school, said, “The School understands the uniqueness of every student and thus follows a culturally responsive curriculum throughout the year.” The Cultural Week at school is one of the many opportunities for the students to express their talent in various performing arts through competitions, she said.

The Cultural week of DPS Bokaro, Primary Wing, also began on July 11. The Theme of the day was ‘Taal Wadya’ with the competition comprising ‘Jhap Taal’, ‘Rupak Taal’ and ‘Teen Taal’. Unique tabla beat played by the tiny tots was highly appreciated by the audience. Ganga House bagged the first prize followed by Jhelum House.  Jamuna and Sutlej House jointly came third. The competition was judged by I M. Jha, Nimesh Rathore and Mrittunjoy Bhattacharjee

Speaking on the occasion Pratima Sinha, Headmistress of DPS Bokaro, Primary Wing, appreciated the students for showcasing their talent and congratulated the winners. Abhineet Sharan and Rishima Chandra anchored the programme. Vote of thanks was extended by Sunita Bhardwaj, Supervisor, Primary Wing.
